I removed the irregular shaped mounting plate for the lift and wrapped some layers of masking tape around it for protection and very carefully placed the plate in my milling machine's vise and milled the hole bigger to 13mm dia, to fit the new lift. I had some spare cylinders complete but all were 1mm bigger in dia.

Next, I cleaned all out and used sme's own clear silicone damping fluid, which worked after a fashion but later started seeping out where the cue lift enters the cylinder.įinally, I did the unthinkable.

This didn't work, even though I got all the air bubbles out, but it was still too fast in the dropdown. This gave me an opening big enough to inject heavy transmission oil into it with a syringe. I did not want to remove it for fear of leaking but eventually succeeded in removing the cue lever itself, without damage. The widget was a one-piece cylinder with a plastic stopper at the underside. This lift wasn't completely empty but was moving up and down far too fast. Nice setup you have here! Sadly, I cannot give you advice on this one as I've had the same troubles with my Grace G727 arm for months.
